BUY A CD AND SUPPORT ARNI! |
Professor Eddie Norman is Head of Design and Technology at Loughborough
University. He supports the work that ARNI is doing because he sees a connection between
the innovative way we tackle the effects of stroke and the way he asked the question
'what if?' when combining his hobby and engineering background to create, amongst
other things, the world's first polymer guitar. He has kindly donated 40 CDs of his
own Irish music (caelie) band. Eddie suggests that we sell these for £5 each
to people who wish to support the work that ARNI is doing, and indicated that proceeds
might go to towards blood pressure monitors or grip strength indicators. Thanks Eddie.

site, requesting a CD, or send a cheque to our PO Box No. Please include your address! |
About the polymer guitar:
“It started as an academic exercise to prove innovation is not always driven
by science. If science were to be believed, a plastic guitar could never work. But
people with experience and expertise in making instruments just ‘knew’
it would. It’s a myth that everything comes down to the appliance of science
- people were building bridges long before they knew about stress analysis.
“As the project progressed, we realised we also had a commercial proposition
– we really could build polymer guitars which would be cheap, fashionable
and of good quality, producing good music. These instruments could be distinctive
enough to grab the attention of people who might otherwise never have considered
picking up a guitar.”
